iPhone 13 to Be Available Under Rs 40,000 During Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale

The Great Indian Festival Sale 2023 is set to kick off on October 8, and ahead of the sale commencement, Amazon is dropping deals for consumers. The latest in the series is a deal around the iPhone 13, which brings it down to under Rs 40,000 (effective price). However, this price includes an exchange offer for consumers, which means if you do not opt for an exchange, the iPhone 13 might come at a slightly higher price than what's teased during the sale.

Launched in 2021, the iPhone 13 is currently retailing at Rs 59,900 for the 128GB storage model, Rs 69,900 for the 256GB model and Rs 89,900 for the 512GB model. This means that the upcoming Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale will offer a discount of up to Rs 20,000 on the official MOP of the iPhone 13.

iPhone 13 at under Rs 40,000? Here's a deal breakdown

During the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale 2023, interested customers can get their hands on the iPhone 13 at its lowest price. But how? The deal breakdown offered by Amazon promises a deal price which is likely to be lower than the Rs 59,900 pricing. Further, if customers use SBI Bank Debit and Credit cards, an additional Rs 1,500 will be offered as a maximum discount. During the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale, SBI Bank customers can avail 10 percent instant discount on purchases on mobiles which has an upper limit of Rs 1,500, while other categories have an upper limit of Rs 1,750.

iphone 13 deal amazon deal 2023 Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale iPhone 13 deal

Customers who have an old device (working smartphone) to exchange will get extra off, as teased by Amazon, which will be over and above the value of the phone being exchanged. However, not everyone will have a phone to exchange, so we can assume that a bank offer is what a lot of people will be opting for. Nevertheless, combining the deal price, bank discount and extra off on exchange, Amazon claims an effective price of under Rs 40,000 for the iPhone 13.

It's worth mentioning that the deal will only hold for a limited time. As always, we expect Amazon to bump the deal pricing of the iPhone 13 as demand surges and depending on the available stocks.

Apart from the iPhone 13, we can expect Amazon to offer discounts on other iPhone models like iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone 14 Pro during the Great Indian Festival Sale 2023.

Apple FineWoven Case and Wallet hands-on

Apple's Wonderlust event this year was as much about announcing the company's environmental efforts as about new products. One major change the company is making this year is that it will no longer be offering leather as a material for any of its products and accessories. This is a pretty big deal, especially for iPhone users, as leather cases are a hot-selling item, and Apple itself, along with several other third parties, has always offered a great variety of leather cases and accessories for the iPhone. So where does that leave us this year? Well, as a replacement, the company...

Weekly poll: can the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro lure you in with a great value for money proposition?

The Xiaomi 13 series was strong out of the gate, but pricey too – the global versions started at €1,000 for the Xiaomi 13 (8/256GB) and €1,300 for the Xiaomi 13 Pro (12/256GB). This week saw the launch of the 13T duo – the phones are not as capable as the main 13 series, however, they are a good deal cheaper too. Xiaomi 13T The Xiaomi 13T is €650 for an 8/256GB phone, the Xiaomi 13T Pro goes for €800 for a unit with extra RAM and the same amount of storage, i.e. 12/256GB. So, both of them have lower MSRPs than their non-T siblings. The price of the old flagships has fallen since...

Weekly poll results: Tecno Phantom V Flip's low price is its biggest advantage

Slowly but surely foldables are inching towards an affordable price range. And it’s not the old flagship killer brands doing it but rather Tecno’s premium brand – the Phantom V Flip launches at ₹50,000 in India and will be €700 in Europe. This makes it the cheapest foldable yet. For comparison, the Rarz 40 is one of the most affordable flip foldables and it costs ₹60,000/€900. The V Flip does have a few rough edges, but as we found in our review, this is a very compelling package for the price. That’s good enough for one fifth of voters in last week’s poll who might have been counting...

OnePlus Open shown by Indian actress Anushka Sharma

If you were wondering whether the long-rumored OnePlus Open, the company's first foldable device, would be sold officially in India, wonder no more. It will. This is clear given that the brand has started its teaser campaign for the Open in India - but not as you'd expect. It's not a social media post announcing an announcement, or anything like that. Instead, OnePlus effectively gave an Open to Indian actress Anushka Sharma, and had her "inadvertently" show it to paparazzi left and right. This was caught by not one but two separate videos, which you can see below. Now,...

Apple Reseller Warns Against Using Android USB Type-C Charging Cable for iPhone 15 Series: Report

iPhone 15 series was launched on September 13 at the Apple 'Wanderlust' event. One of the significant changes in this year's flagship lineup from the company was the inclusion of the USB Type-C charging ports, similar to several Android smartphones. However, if you are wondering about using the Android cable for charging iPhone 15 lineup, an Apple reseller has reportedly warned against this practice. As per a previous report, the USB Type-C port on the latest iPhone series support multiple functions.

The iPhone 15 lineup — including a base variant, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max — debuted at Apple's launch event on September 13. The smartphones get significant changes over the predecessors in terms of its specifications. With this series, the company also introduced the USB Type-C port on all the recently launched Apple devices, similar to several Android smartphones.

However, if users are planning to use and Android cable on iPhone products, an Apple reseller in China has warned not to do so. According to a report on Chinese website CNMO, an Apple store in Foshan City of the Guangdong Province in China has issued an article to request iPhone users to avoid using Android's USB Type-C charging cable on Apple smartphones as it may burn the devices.

The report also mentions that several users consider it to be a gimmick to ensure that buyers purchase the original Apple charging cables, in order to increase their revenue. It is to be noted that Apple has already mentioned on its support page that users can use USB Type-C standard cable to charge their recently launched iPhones.

To recall, the new USB Type-C port in Apple claims to provide 15 times more power than the lightning port's 0.3W of output. The company offers a USB 2-compatible cable in the box on purchase of iPhone 15 Pro smartphones. For a better data transfer speed, users can purchase an optional USB-3-compatible cable from the company's online, offline, and reseller stores.

iPhone SE 4 Leak Points to Improved Camera, A15 Bionic Chip and Face ID; Might Look Like This iPhone Model

iPhone SE 4 — expected to debut in 2025 as the successor to the iPhone SE (2022) — has been leaked online. Details of the company's purported affordable offering have been leaked by a tipster. The fourth-generation iPhone SE model is said to be powered by Apple's A15 Bionic chip that first debuted on the iPhone 13 series. It could also be equipped with improved cameras, support for Face ID, and a USB Type C port, just like the iPhone 15 lineup that was unveiled earlier this month.

An X (formerly known as Twitter) user Nithin Prasad recently claimed that the iPhone SE 4 will sport a LTPS OLED display that could be produced by BOE or Tianma. The size of the display is also said to be larger than the previous generation — the iPhone SE 4 will sport a 6.1-inch screen compared to the smaller 4.7-inch panel on the iPhone SE (2022), according to the user.

Prasad claims that the handset will be powered by the company's A15 Bionic chip. This is the same chip that powered the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the Apple TV 4K (2023). This means the iPhone SE 4 could be equipped with a slightly older chip when it debuts — unlike its predecessor, the iPhone SE (2022), which had the same chipset as the iPhone 14 models.

The iPhone SE 4 is also said to be equipped with upgraded cameras, which means that the rear camera and selfie camera could feature improved sensors or lenses. According to Prasad, the smartphone will also feature support for Face ID — Apple's biometric authentication method that securely scans a user's face before unlocking the device or initiating payments.

Prasad also claims that the iPhone SE 4 will feature a design that is similar to the iPhone XR that was launched by Apple in 2018. The display notch, on the other hand, will be like the one found on the iPhone 14, he claims. The handset will also be equipped with a USB Type-C port, he adds.

Last month, a tipster claimed that the iPhone SE 4 would be equipped with a USB Type-C port and feature support for Face ID along with the new Action button that arrived on this year's iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones. However, the previous leak suggests that the iPhone SE 4 would feature a design that is similar to the iPhone 14, which suggested that it could feature flat edges compared to its predecessor.

Counter-Strike 2 Has Officially Launched on Steam, Replacing CS:GO

Counter-Strike 2 is finally available on Steam, after spending months in limited testing. Billed as the ‘largest technical leap' in the perennial shooter's history, CS2 replaces the original CS:GO and is ready for download on the platform. Running on the Source 2 Engine, which powered the acclaimed Half-Life: Alyx, the successor now gets a graphical facelift with redesigns to certain maps, alongside some technical upgrades that strengthen the overall gunplay. Interestingly, while Valve never openly announced a release date, the official Counter-Strike Twitter account updated its header image with cryptic phrases like “Dawn of the Final Day” to signal its imminent launch.

CS2 functions as a free update to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, automatically transferring all purchased skins and cosmetics to the new version. All classic maps — Dust 2, Inferno, Mirage, and the ilk — come with lighting improvements that create reflections on surfaces like tiles and puddles, alongside more realistic shadows. Using Source 2, the maps have been rebuilt from the ground up to suit a modern aesthetic — the same tools will be available to community map makers so they can build and share their own creations. One of the major physics-based shifts has to be the inclusion of volumetric 3D smokes that are super-reactive to movement, be it any bullets passing through or a nearby explosion that causes the plume to change shape naturally. Previously, these used to be stagnant — like a grey mass.

Valve has also introduced a new sub-tick architecture, which lets the official servers know the exact timing at which you hurled a grenade or fired a bullet. CS:GO relied on a discrete time interval mechanic called ticks, which were set to 64hz by default, causing a chunk of ranked players to flock over to unofficial servers offering a more responsive 128hz tick rate. Speaking of ranked play, CS2 brings an all-new rating system that is split between two modes: the classic competitive and Premier. The former functions the same as before, allowing you to pick your choice of map and strive to gain the highest elo, going from Silver 1 to Global Elite. However, now the ranks are divided based on maps, so you could be a Master Elite on Dust 2 while simultaneously being a Gold Nova level player on Vertigo.

Premier is being touted as the main competitive mode, introducing an active pick-ban system that lets you ban certain maps before the start of a match. So, it's ideal that you master certain maps on the standard ranked mode, before heading into the serious leagues. Upon finishing 10 placement games, players will be granted a numeric skill rating — called CS Rating — instead of a rank emblem, as a means to show where you rank among friends, the region, and even worldwide. As a general bonus feature, CS2 also lets you refund any weapons, equipment, or throwables you purchased on accident, as long as you manage to do it during the prescribed buy time.

Counter-Strike 2 is now available to play for free on PC via Steam.

Apple macOS Sonoma Available for Users With Several New Features; Here's How to Download

Apple has made macOS Sonoma —the latest version of its operating system for Macs—available to the public as a free software update. The Cupertino-based company first previewed macOS Sonoma during WWDC23 in June. The latest version of macOS brings several UI improvements, new screen savers, video conferencing features, interactive widgets, and more to eligible Mac models. Machines including 2017's iMac Pro model, MacBook Pro from 2018 or later, and Mac Mini from 2018 or later offer support for the macOS Sonoma. Check out how you can download and install macOS Sonoma on your Mac.

Following the launch of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 last week, Apple released the macOS Sonoma update to the public as a free software update on Tuesday (September 26). The latest operating system is compatible with these computers —iMac (2019 or later), iMac Pro (2017 or later), MacBook Air (2018 or later), MacBook Pro (2018 or later), Mac Pro (2019 or later), Mac Studio (2022 or later), and Mac Mini (2018 or later).

Follow the steps below to update your Mac

  1. Launch the System Settings app on your supported machine.
  2. Head to General > Software Update and wait for the new version to appear.
  3. Click on Upgrade Now and Agree to the terms.

Users are recommended to update their Mac models while they are connected to a power source. The machine might restart multiple times during the process. The update adds several enhancements to widgets that allow users to complete a reminder, play or pause media, access home controls, and perform various tasks directly from the widget on their desktop. Also, iPhone users will be able to customise their Mac with widgets from their handsets.

Apple has added a new Game Mode feature in macOS Sonoma. It also includes new video conferencing features that enable users to present and share their work within any video conferencing app. The Presenter Overlay feature for video conferencing allows users to add video to the conversation while sharing their screen, whereas the Reactions feature lets users add 3D-augmented reality effects like hearts, confetti, fireworks, and more to the screen. Further, the new macOS includes updates to Safari, Siri, and Messages.

Apple unveiled its first mixed reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro, at its annual developer conference, along with new Mac models and upcoming software updates. We discuss all the most important announcements made by the company at WWDC 2023 on Orbital, the Gadgets 360 podcast. Orbital is available on Spotify, Gaana, JioSaavn, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus survive the bend test that shattered the iPhone 15 Pro Max

When it's not overheating, the iPhone 15 Pro Max fails bend tests - like the one performed last week by Zack from YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. It's quite a sight to behold how the back glass shatters when the phone is bent, and keep in mind that this is the first iPhone to ever fail such a test. Let's reminisce: Today it's time to see if the vanilla iPhone 15, which still has an aluminum frame, unlike the Pro Max's fancy titanium, will share the same fate or not. Spoiler alert: no. Watch the full durability test for yourself and see: As usual, it all starts with a screen...

Apple iPhone 15 Pro in for review

It's time to unbox the new Apple iPhone 15 Pro (we already did the Max). Just like the bigger phone, the Pro ships with a single item - a USB-C cable. As far as those go, this one is a quality, braided unit. Before we come back to the inevitable comparisons with the Pro Max, let's take a good appreciative glance at the new iPhone 15 Pro. Perhaps it's the years of glossy, razor-like iPhone Pro models before it, but the subtle, lightly-curved new device looks distinguishable in a positive way. At around 19 grams lighter, it also feels like a smaller phone than before. We can thank...

Crypto Price Today: Ether Sees Profits, Bitcoin Remains Impacted by More Losses

Bitcoin reflected a loss of 0.14 percent on Wednesday, September 27. Bitcoin is presently trading at the price point of $26,180 (roughly Rs. 21.8 lakh). This marks the third consecutive day this week that the most expensive cryptocurrency is trading in losses. In the last 24 hours, the value of Bitcoin dropped by $96 (roughly Rs. 7,995). There is no specific reason as to why BTC is not being able to see profits. At this point, market volatility ushered by regular changes in the macroeconomic conditions is keeping the cryptocurrency trading lowly.

Elaborating on Bitcoin's low trading range, Edul Patel from Mudrex said, "BTC has recently consolidated above the $26,100 (roughly Rs. 21.7 lakh) mark, possibly because of the US 10-year Treasury yield surging to 4.55 percent, matching its highest level in approximately 16 years. This sharp increase in interest rates has had a similar effect on the equity markets."

Many of the cryptocurrencies that showed gains earlier this week, are now seeing the impact of market volatility, tailing behind Bitcoin.

The prices of Dogecoin, Solana, Polkadot, Polygon, Litecoin, and Shiba Inu — all tailed behind BTC to register small, notable losses.

Chainlink, Leo, Stellar, Cosmos, and Cronos also registered price dips.

"Unless Bitcoin manages to surpass the end-of-August high at $28,000 (roughly Rs. 23.2 lakh), the most likely direction for its price remains sideways to down as per the technicals. Looking at the broader picture, any drop below $25,000 (roughly Rs. 20 lakh) could have significant implications," the CoinDCX Research team told Gadgets 360.

Ether meanwhile, did not follow Bitcoin today in its usual, conventional matter. At the time of writing, Ether was trading at $1,591 (roughly Rs. 1.32 lakh) after it recorded a small profit of 0.52 percent. Over the last day however, the value of Ether did not see any significant change.

Tether, Binance Coin, Ripple, USD Coin, and Cardano — all logged small losses.

As per CoinMarketCap, the overall crypto market valuation did not change and continued to sit atop the mark of $1.05 trillion (roughly Rs. 87,34,099 crore) as per CoinMarketCap.

Industry experts have suggested that investors should invest with caution in digital assets given the market's volatile status being in activated mode for the time being.

"It is important to note that Bitcoin volumes on centralized exchanges have hit its 5-year low. The last time we saw this was in Sep 2018 when Bitcoin was nearing the close of its bear cycle,"Shubham Hudda, Senior Manager, CoinSwitch Markets Desk told Gadgets 360.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE price leaks

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S23 FE has been leaking extensively in recent weeks, so much so that it pretty much seems like not one day can go by without a new one. Today, it's one of the most important details that got outed, and that's the phone's price. We're talking about its price in the US, which probably won't directly translate well into how much Samsung will ask for it in other places. For the US, today's rumor has the recommended retail price at $599. That should transform into at least €699 in the EU, if not more - for comparison's sake, the S23 is $749 in the US but €949 in the...

Crypto-Related Street Art Gaining Popularity in Europe, Aiming to Stir Awareness

Europe, where the rules overseeing the crypto sector have been pronounced clearly under the MiCA legislation — is seeing an artsy crypto awareness drive shaping up along the empty boundary and building walls within its territory. A group of street artists came together in January this year to form a group called ‘Street Cy₿er', dedicated specifically to stir awareness and discussions around this relatively new fintech sector, which is also currently infamous for its volatility and lack of rules that govern it outside of the European Union (EU).

Over a hundred members make up this Street Cy₿er group. These members include people from the artist, journalist, academician, and activist communities spread across the EU region. A CoinTelegraph report said on September 25.

Street art related to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, initiated by this group, has surfaced in Barcelona, London, Berlin, Madrid, Prague, Riga (Latvia), and Tallin (Estonia) in the last nine months between January and September this year.

“Street art is also a way to bypass the traditional media, which is often controlled by powerful interests. The symbiosis between street art and Bitcoin is a powerful one. Bitcoin is a peaceful way to protest against the state and its policies. It is a way to opt out of the traditional financial system [and] escape the tyranny of the state,” the report has quoted representatives of Street Cy₿er as saying.

While some of this group's work is inclined towards making political statements, the other part only includes having fun with crypto-themed paintings and stickers, including famous cartoon characters.

On X (formerly Twitter), the group flaunts a verified handle with over three thousand followers. Pictures of these pro-crypto artworks are often posted via this handle that claims to be ‘Raising awareness about Bitcoin'.

This artsy crypto awareness drive comes when the EU is now looking to make its region a haven for Web3 industry players. It passed the Mica legislation earlier this year and plans to enforce it completely by the end of 2024.

The Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework largely revolves around consumer protection and prevention of market manipulation and financial crimes in the crypto sector. The MiCA bill aims to prevent insider dealing, unlawful disclosure of inside information, and market manipulation related to crypto-assets.

Last year, European nations clocked 98.5 million crypto users, up from 71.5 million users that were recorded the year before.

Bitcoin Price at $26,200 Trades in Losses, Most Altcoins Reflect Dips on Crypto Chart

Bitcoin on Monday, September 25, recorded a loss of 1.38 percent. At the time of writing, the value of Bitcoin stood at the price point of $26,207 (roughly Rs. 21.7 lakh). The most expensive cryptocurrency has largely traded between the price marks of $23,000 (roughly Rs. 19 lakh) to $28,000 (roughly Rs. 23 lakh). Around Friday last week, the value of Bitcoin slipped below the mark of $27,000 (roughly Rs. 22.4 lakh). Most cryptocurrencies recorded price dips today alongside Bitcoin.

"Bitcoin remained above the $26,000 mark (roughly Rs. 50,000) despite stock market declines and a stronger US dollar, indicating its resilience. From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin's price action is currently influenced by two key levels: the 200-weekly Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $24,700 (roughly Rs. 20.5 lahks), which could provide support, and the 200-weekly Simple Moving Average (SMA) at $27,800 (roughly Rs. 23 lakh), which may act as resistance. These levels are expected to play significant roles in shaping Bitcoin's price movement in the coming weeks,"

Ether incurred a loss of 0.95 percent as the asset stepped into the trading arena for the last week in September. The price of ETH at this point stands at $1,577 (roughly Rs. 1.31 lakh). The second-most valuable cryptocurrency after BTC, ETH tumbled under the mark of $1,600 (roughly Rs. 1.32 lakh) last Friday and has not managed to recover yet.

Tether, Binance Coin, Ripple, USD Coin, Dogecoin, Cardano, and Solana recorded losses on Monday.

Polkadot, Polygon, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Bitcoin Cash, and Chainlink also registered dips alongside BTC and ETH.

The overall crypto sector valuation dropped by one percent in the last 24 hours to reach a capitalisation of $1.04 trillion (roughly Rs. 86,38,515 crore), as per CoinMarketCap.

Alternatively, jumping between the neutral and the fear zone over the weekend, the fear and greed index is back in the neutral zone with a score of 47/100.

A very small number of cryptocurrencies recorded profits today. These include Monero, Near Protocol, Iota, NEM, BurgerCities, and Gas.

"The overall trend in the crypto market continues to be down, with bearish sentiments, particularly after the remarks from the Feds. The market is expecting BTC volatility to see an uptick as Bitcoin options worth $3 billion (roughly Rs. 28265 crore) expire on September 29," Parth Chaturvedi, Investments Lead, CoinSwitch Ventures told Gadgets 360.

Flashback: the time when SIM cards and microSD cards merged into one

In a past installment we looked at the history of the memory card. The microSD emerged as the clear victor, but it might soon follow MMC and Memory Stick into the great beyond, at least as far as smartphones are concerned. These days a microSD slot is a rare sight. Even SIM cards are starting to sweat as Apple is sticking with its eSIM-only approach that started last year. Yes, it’s only in the US for now, but that seems more because of limited eSIM support by carriers globally than anything else, Apple’s preference seems clear – no card slots! And yes, we know that Apple wasn’t the first...

Weekly poll results: the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the clear fan favorite, the 15 Plus gets no love

Last week’s poll leaves no secrets as to which of the new iPhone 15 models is the most popular – sure, it’s expensive, the periscope camera is an unknown and the older models are still competitive, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the one to have from this generation. Regardless of why it happened, the switch to USB-C is a big deal (especially with USB 3.1 speeds). The lighter build due to the switch to titanium matters too. Amazon Prime Video Shows and Movies to Include Limited Ads in Early 2024

Amazon Prime Video will include advertising during shows and movies starting early next year, the streaming giant confirmed on September 22. Ads in Prime Video content will be initially introduced in countries including the US, UK, Germany, and Canada in early 2024. Prime Video users in France, Italy, Spain and Mexico will start seeing ads later next year. Amazon has introduced a new ad-free option as well. Amazon Prime members in the US can pay $2.99 (roughly Rs. 200) a month to access ad-free services. The latest move by Amazon Prime Video follows the launch of similar plans by rivals Netflix and Walt Disney.

Starting early next year, Amazon plans to add limited advertisements to Prime Video movies and shows, the company announced through an official release on Friday. The company says the move is to “continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time.” Prime Video subscribers in the US along with those in the UK, Germany and Canada will see ads starting early next year. Prime Video users in France, Italy, Spain and Mexico will start seeing ads later in the same year.

Prime Video users in the US can purchase an "ad-free" option at an additional cost of $2.99 per month. Amazon says it will share pricing for other countries at a later date.

For users in the US, Amazon said it will send out an email to Prime members several weeks before ads are introduced into its programs with details on how to sign up for the ad-free option if they would like. Amazon says it aims to have “meaningfully fewer” ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers.

Amazon's new initiative to include commercials during movies and shows is not a first-of-its-kind feature in the streaming space. Amazon's major rivals in the market, Netflix and Disney+ also launched similar ad-supported services earlier.

Amazon Prime Video membership currently costs $8.99 (roughly Rs. 600) per month in the US. Amazon is currently charging Rs. 1,499 annually for Prime membership, Rs. 599 for three months, and Rs. 299 per month in India.
