Variants distinguishable by their exterior and interior themes
Skoda’s large sedan, the Superb, has just got an update. The mid-cycle refresh brings tweaked styling, a longer equipment list and a switch to BS6 power. The 2.0-litre diesel engine has been dropped altogether while the old 1.8-litre turbo-petrol unit has been replaced by a new 190hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. There’s no manual gearbox option with a 7-speed dual-clutch auto being standard fit.
While there may be only one engine-gearbox option on offer, buyers can choose between two different flavours of the Superb. The Superb Sportline – with its gloss-black exterior trim, a boot lip spoiler, all-black cabin with red highlights and single piece front seats – has the sportier air about it. The L&K (Laurin & Klement), on the other hand – with its chrome décor on the outside, different design dual-tone of alloy wheels and dual-tone cabin (with a choice of leather upholstery colours) – has premium appeal. Each variant additionally also packs in some exclusive equipment.
