Skoda Auto India has expanded its digital sales service, which it calls the Skoda Contactless Programme, in an attempt to further reduce the need for customer walk-ins at dealerships during these times of social distancing.
- Online bookings of Skoda vehicles started earlier this year
- Live consultations and virtual product demonstrations now available
- Digital initiatives aimed at reducing physical interactions
You can buy a Skoda online
Skoda India had introduced its online bookings service earlier this year, but has now expanded the service to include the next steps in the car buying process, like product consultations and demonstrations. Coupled with test drives, which can be arranged at the customer’s residence, the need to physically visit a dealership is greatly reduced.
Skoda Contactless Programme: How does it work?
A prospective buyer can sign up for a contactless demo by logging in to the Skoda Auto India website and choosing their intended model. A link will then be sent to their mobile or email address, which will take them to a video conference with a Skoda executive for a live consultation and virtual product demonstration. All this can be done via smartphone, tablet or personal computer, and is available at all of Skoda India’s 80-plus dealerships.
Speaking of smartphones, the Czech automaker also offers its MySkoda app for iOS and Android devices, which customers can use to locate their nearest dealership, make service appointments, check their service history and billing records, and contact customer care.
Weighing in on the company’s latest move, Zac Hollis, brand director, Skoda Auto India, commented, “The latest initiative provides customers with an opportunity to explore and experience our exciting new range of products from the comfort of their home.”
Which Skoda cars can be demoed online?
Digital consultations can be availed for the complete Skoda range which, for now, includes the Rapid mid-size sedan, Superb premium executive sedan and the Karoq mid-size SUV. Similar facilities will be extended to the upcoming model range as well.
Skoda recently introduced a new Rider Plus variant to the Rapid line-up priced at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The company is now gearing up to add an automatic transmission option to the Rapid and bring back the Kodiaq SUV with a petrol engine in the coming months.
