Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended priced at Rs 7.95 crore

Rolls-Royce has introduced the Extended version of its new Ghost ultra-luxury sedan, with additional space for rear passengers. We tell you more about it.

  • Ghost Extended features a wheelbase that is 170mm longer than the standard version.
  • Gets optional ‘Serenity’ reclining seats.
  • Uses the standard Ghost’s 6.75-litre V12 engine

What is the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended?

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended is the new extended-wheelbase variant of the recently launched second-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost and is developed for use as a chauffeured sedan, offering extra space and special features focused on the rear of the cabin. It will likely prove particularly popular in markets like China, where there's high demand for extended-wheelbase vehicles.

Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended exterior details

The Ghost Extended is based on a stretched version of the aluminium spaceframe architecture used on the standard Ghost (and the Phantom and Cullinan). It has been lengthened by 170mm from the standard Ghost’s 5,549mm, with the wheelbase increased by 170mm to 3,465mm.

Rolls-Royce says that, to maintain the Ghost’s ‘minimalist’ styling, its designers only extended the rear door and body around the openings, which ‘cloaked’ the extra length and helped to preserve the lines of the car.

The engineering and drivetrain of the Ghost remains unchanged, using the same 571hp, 6.75-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine.

Inside, the extra rear cabin room of the Ghost Extended has allowed for a number of new features. Reclining ‘serenity seats’, which Rolls-Royce likens to those in a business jet, are optional.

A champagne fridge has also been fitted between the rear seats. Because the optimum serving temperature of champagne is 6deg C for non-vintage bottles and 11deg C for vintage bottles, the fridge has two cooling modes at those temperatures. Other comfort features include built-in wi-fi and a new air-purification system.

Rolls-Royce Ghost and Ghost Extended price in India

The brand has announced pricing for both versions for the Indian market – the Ghost EWB costs Rs 7.95 crore while the standard Ghost is priced at Rs 6.95 crore (ex-showroom).
